Paint Protection Film in San Diego
Self-healing urethane film that stops rock chips, abrasions, and road debris — before they reach your paint.
What it is
Physical protection. Nothing else does what PPF does.
Paint protection film is a thermoplastic urethane film applied directly to your vehicle's painted surfaces. It absorbs rock chips, road debris, bug splatter, minor abrasions, and contact damage that would otherwise mark your paint permanently. Ceramic coating repels water and chemicals. Wax adds shine. Neither stops a rock chip. PPF does.
Modern PPF films are optically clear, self-healing (minor scratches disappear with solar heat or warm water), and warrantied for 10 years against delamination, yellowing, and cracking. The film is designed to be replaced — it takes the damage so the factory paint underneath never has to. When the film's service life ends, it's removed cleanly and replaced. The paint underneath is untouched.
On San Diego's freeway network — the 5, 15, 52, and 805 carry heavy commercial truck traffic year-round — front-end chips accumulate fast. A vehicle doing daily freeway commutes without PPF on the front end will show visible chip damage within 18–24 months. The math on PPF vs. a front bumper respray is straightforward.

How it's installed
No shortcuts on a PPF install.
The edge sealing step is where most bad installs fail within months. We don't rush it.
Paint Assessment
We check for existing chips and paint condition. Any areas of concern are documented before film goes on — we don't cover problems, we address them.
Decontamination Wash
Full decontamination: iron remover, clay bar, pH-neutral wash. The surface must be completely clean for proper film adhesion.
Film Cutting
Patterns are cut precisely using computer-plotted pre-cut templates for your specific vehicle make and model. No freehand cutting on your car.
Film Application
Applied wet using precise squeegee technique to ensure zero air pockets and full edge coverage. We take our time on complex body lines.
Edge Sealing
Critical film edges are heat-formed and sealed to ensure no lifting over time. This is where cheap installs fail within months.
Cure & Inspection
Film is inspected under controlled lighting for any air pockets, lifting, or contamination under the film. Every panel signed off before delivery.
